Volunteers: Our Lifeline
Building a Habitat for Humanity House takes a lot of work and dedication from our building crew! We could not do it without all their hard work and volunteer hours. Another very important piece of our house-building consists of support we receive from the local community. Many individuals and businesses donate time, money, supplies and yes, even coffee and donuts, to help us get the job done. ies and yes, even coffee and donuts, to help us get the job done.

Donate Online
Help us eliminate substandard housing in our community! It's quick, easy and safe to support the house-building and hope-building work of Midcoast Habitat through Habitat for Humanity International's secure online donation system. You can even send a gift card announcing your donation in honor of a loved one or a special occasion. You can also mail you donation straight to Midcoast Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 785, Camden, ME 04843.

The Habitat Ring

Do you ever wonder what happens when you make a donation to Midcoast Habitat for Humanity? Where does your money go? How are your donations used? Do your contributions make a difference? Of course they do!

The "Habitat Ring" is the ring formed by donations of money, land or materials to Habitat for Humanity. Such a donation is a unique gift of enduring love for one's fellow man, which continues after death and into perpetuity.

How it works
When Habitat for Humanity receives a donation of money, materials or land, it is credited to our Building and Lands Funds. Market value is assigned to donated land or materials and is included in the selling price of the home. Donations are used for the construction of new homes. Our small overhead is added to the cost of the house and paid for by the new homeowner.

When the homeowner makes his/her monthly, interest-free mortgage payments, the cash flow derived is added to the donations received during the month.

These funds are credited to Building and Land Funds, and the cycle begins again.

Donations to Habitat never stop working! This is the miracle of the Habitat Ring!

To our family a new home means the opportunity to have a place where we can play, laugh and grow together as a family. A new home that is affordable, safe and reliable gives us a chance to provide a better life for our family. This is what Habitat for Humanity has provided us with. We are truly blessed for the new stage we will begin in our new home and as a new family member to Habitat for Humanity. Our new community will be a new beginning and a great start for our family as our children enter school. We would like to thank all of you who have helped in any way make this possible for our family.
Sincerely,
Will, Christina, Emily and Ryan Wotton
