WHY WE BUILD
"Finally we’d be living some place that would truly be ours… I can finally feel like we are settled into our own home… Just the security of knowing that it’s ours… It always seems that I just barely get by so being told that I was chosen to receive this amazing gift was a complete shock… For me owning my own house just didn’t seem to be in the cards… Being a single mother and living only on one income is a struggle… Just normal living costs for shelter, food, and clothing with two incomes is difficult let alone one income… With that said the probability of ever being able to have a down payment for my own house just didn’t ever seem to be an option… Words truly can’t express my gratitude to this program and the people that make it possible… I’ve met people that are so selfless in volunteering their time without expecting anything in return… Habitat for Humanity I believe shows that communities are still strong and act in manner that benefits all not just one’s self… I feel privileged, so grateful and look forward to being a part of such an amazing program." - Krista R.
